Apple iPhone 14 Plus Price in Pakistan & Specifications

The iPhone 14 arrives in stores as the cheapest option in the new family of Apple phones. In previous years, its predecessors have been the most recommended phones in the Apple catalog. Will this new version continue to be?

There is not a single technical aspect in which it is different. Same screen technology, same cameras, same chip. So this article will focus on what does change: the size of the device, its larger screen, and possible differences in its autonomy.

The iPhone 14 Plus replaces the mini version of Apple’s standard range of smartphones. Last year we had an iPhone 13 and an iPhone 13 mini. If we wanted to access the largest possible size, we had to go for the Pro version. But in turn, the latter did not have a mini version. This year things change.

iPhone 14 Plus: Proven Apple design in a new dimension

Apple has listened to its fans: the majority of them apparently like large displays. The manufacturer from Cupertino offers a larger version of the standard model in the current iPhone generation. With a 6.7-inch display-diagonal, the iPhone 14 Plus offers you a large screen on which you can easily watch videos and play games.

The iconic notch is still located at the top of the screen. Apple has placed its sensors for Face ID and the front camera in the small recess in the display. Technically, the display offers you a resolution of 2778 x 1284 pixels (that means 458 pixels per inch) and thus provides a razor-sharp display. Thanks to the OLED technology used, colors are displayed particularly brightly, while dark areas are displayed in real black. With a peak brightness of up to 1200 nits, the display is easy and comfortable to read even in bright sunlight.

The edge lengths of the iPhone 14 Plus are 160.8 x 78.1 x 7.8 mm. The large iPhone weighs 203 g.  Apple covered the iPhone 14 Plus with glass. Ceramic Shield is used on the display – a particularly hard and resistant glass that protects particularly well against cracks and cracks. Apple also uses high-quality glass on the back, which ensures a premium feeling in the hand. In addition, the iPhone 14 Plus is IP68 certified. This means it is protected against dust and permanent submersion in water. The rugged iPhone can also detect car accidents and automatically call for help if you should not be able to make it anymore.

The camera delivers the usual Apple quality

There are two cameras on the back of the iPhone 14 Plus. There is a wide-angle and an ultra-wide-angle camera. With both you take photos with a resolution of 12 MP. So you are well prepared for almost all photographic situations – from snapshots to portraits to landscape shots and group photos. Apple’s new Photonic Engine ensures even better image results – especially in darker light conditions.

Apple has given the camera of the iPhone 14 Plus an optical image stabilizer so that your pictures do not shake so easily, even with longer exposure times. Apple’s continuous autofocus is used to ensure that your subject is always reliably in focus. This tracks moving objects and keeps them in focus.

Apple’s extensive and advanced software is available to you for editing your pictures. This gives your shots in portrait mode a nice background blur (bokeh effect) and gives you the opportunity to adjust the exposure of your shots afterwards.

Filmmakers also get their money’s worth with the iPhone 14 Plus: the iPhone 14 Plus records videos in 4K quality at up to 60 fps. Of course, you can also reduce the resolution to save storage space. Apple’s cinema mode is also part of the game and is supported by the new Action mode. The latter stabilizes the image when filming when you move.

With the front camera you shoot first-class selfies with a resolution of 12 MP. Apple calls the lens “TrueDepth Camera”. Here, too, you have an autofocus and Apple’s numerous software features for post-processing and image optimization at your disposal. If you want to shoot videos of yourself in VLOG style, or take part in video calls with the iPhone 14 Plus, you can do that with the front camera as well. For video recordings, you can also set the resolution to 4K here.

An old acquaintance in a new guise ensures propulsion

Apple is known for the computing power of its cell phone chipsets. In the iPhone 14 Plus, this comes from the A15 Bionic Chip. The powerful processor ensures smooth performance. Complex 3D games also run smoothly and Apple’s VR and AR applications also don’t pose a challenge. You can also run multiple apps in multitasking at the same time. Apple’s new iOS 16 operating system is pre-installed at the factory. So that you can save all the complex apps and also numerous pictures and videos on the device, Apple has built in a generous amount of internal memory. With the iPhone 14 Plus you have the choice between 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB of storage space.
The large external dimensions of the iPhone 14 Plus bring another advantage in addition to the huge display: the enormous battery life. Apple promises up to 26 hours of video playback or up to 100 hours of music playback for the large iPhone. This makes the iPhone 14 Plus one of the most enduring smartphones that the tech giant has ever presented. Only a few models, like the iPhone 14 Pro Max, last a little longer.

Who is the iPhone 14 Plus for?

If it doesn’t offer anything significantly better than the iPhone 14, if most of its internals are the same as the iPhone 13, and we already have an iPhone 14 Plus with a 6.7-inch screen, who is the iPhone 14 Plus for ?

I think the iPhone 14 Plus makes sense for people who don’t need a professional device with all the features that make the iPhone 14 Pro Max “Pro,” and for a higher price tag. But at the same time I think, if you got your hands on an iPhone 13 or even an iPhone 12, I wouldn’t upgrade. I would wait for next year’s model.

I also think it’s a device that makes more sense, for price, in the United States. There it stands at $899 in the cheapest version with 128 GB of storage. But, in Pakistan, the same smartphone reaches around PKR 449,999 and I think it loses appeal.

If it is a question of price, I would go for the iPhone 14 or even the iPhone 13, which – from the point of view of technical characteristics – is very similar and has a price of 909 euros. And that is why I was saying that it is not necessarily bad news to choose a 13 and not a 14.

Because let’s be honest: the iPhone 14 should have been called the iPhone 13S. And the mini version, although it was not a sales success, does cover the need of a sector that is not small and that is looking for high-performance smartphones at reduced sizes.
