New renders have appeared of the OnePlus Open, OnePlus’ first foldable device. They look slightly different from previous images of the smartphone. For example, the screens have a wider aspect ratio.
OnePlus Open can be seen in all its glory on renders
OnePlus is preparing to release its first foldable smartphone. The well-known nice OnLeaks previously published computer-generated renders of this OnePlus Open, but has now updated its images.
The new images are based on real photos of the device, which will closely resemble the Oppo Find N2. It is not officially for sale in the Netherlands. The OnePlus Open will probably be in the store here soon.
By far the most important change is the aspect ratio of both screens. Both the display on the outside and on the inside will be a lot wider than expected. As a result, the closed device looks more like a traditional smartphone. We think that’s good news. In our review of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, a major competitor, we complained about the narrow screen on the outside. That feels very tight.
OnePlus also opts for rounder corners, making the phone more comfortable to hold. The camera island is also a lot larger than on the previous renders. That takes up almost half of the back. The Chinese company would also have changed the position of the speakers. That should sound better.
More about the OnePlus Open
The OnePlus Open has a 6.3-inch screen on the outside and an almost square 7.8-inch display on the inside. This is ideal for multitasking because you can run two apps side by side. In both cases, it is an OLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz for smooth images.
We’ve listed all the rumors about the OnePlus Open for you. For example, the device runs on a super-fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and the battery has a capacity of 4800 mAh. It would charge nice and fast with 67 Watts.
It is not yet clear when OnePlus will present its foldable device. That will almost certainly happen sometime in the next few months. Whoever is interested needs a large piggy bank. The smartphone is expected to cost 350,000 PKR
